This Kamakura one-day tour is designed as a relaxed cultural exploration rather than a rushed sightseeing schedule. Traveling by train from Tokyo with an English-speaking guide allows easy access to Kamakura’s compact historic area while enjoying scenic coastal surroundings.
The day is divided into a history-focused morning and a temple-focused afternoon, creating a well-rounded experience of Kamakura’s religious heritage, traditional streets, and iconic landmarks.
Morning – Departure from Tokyo & Kamakura’s Spiritual Center
Departure from Tokyo (around 8:30 PM)
Meet your guide at the designated location (e.g., Shinjuku or Tokyo Station). Depart for Kamakura by train.
Tsurugaoka Hachimangu
Visit the city’s central shrine, a key historical site of the Kamakura Shogunate.
Komachi-dori Street / Lunch Break
Enjoy free time for lunch and souvenir shopping along this bustling street. (Lunch cost not included.)
Afternoon – Mountain Drive & Natural Wonders
Kotoku-in Temple (Great Buddha)
See the iconic Daibutsu, one of Japan’s most recognizable religious icons.
Hase-dera Temple
Explore the beautiful temple grounds, including the main hall and the observation deck with ocean views.
Return to Tokyo (around 17:30 PM)
Arrive back at the designated drop-off point. Tour concludes.

- 46 days or more prior to arrival date in Japan: no penalty
- 45-31 days prior to arrival date in Japan: 10% of the tour fee
- 30-15 days prior to arrival date in Japan: 20% of the tour fee
- 14- 8 days prior to arrival date in Japan: 30% of the tour fee
- 7 – 3 days prior to arrival date in Japan: 50% of the tour fee
- Less than 3 days prior to arrival date in Japan: 100% of the tour fee
