Airport Bus

The Kansai Airport Transportation Enterprise service runs between Kansai International Airport (KIX) and major hotels and stations in Osaka, Kyoto and other cities in the area. Tickets cost between 1600 and 2600 yen per adult and can be bought on the 1st floor of terminal 1 of the airport. There are several routes depending on the final destination. The buses leave every 30 minutes, and it takes about 1-2 hours to get to your destination.

Please refer to the map shown above for the location of the bus stops.

Train

Depending on where you need to go in Kansai, you can also take a train to your hotel. It only takes around 45 minutes to get from the airport to central Osaka, and around 1.5 hours to get to Kyoto station. The price depends on where you need to go and ranges between 1100-3500 yen per adult.

You can look up on Google maps which train would be the best option for you to take.

Airport Taxi

Taxis are the most comfortable way of getting around, but also the most expensive. A one-way ride from Kansai International Airport to a hotel in central Osaka can easily set you back around 20,000 yen or more. No tipping is expected. Taxis are available on almost every street, at major hotels, near railway stations and of course at the airport.

You don’t need to touch the door when getting in or out of a taxi. The doors on taxi are operated by the driver with a remote lever. Many taxi drivers speak only Japanese, so it can be helpful to have your destination written in Japanese.

Baggage Delivery

Most residents of Japan take advantage of Japan’s fast and reliable home delivery network. After clearing immigration and customs, take your luggage to the JAL ABC or Kansai Airport Baggage Service counter in terminal 1. For about 1,800yen per bag, they will deliver the bag by the following day wherever you are.
